Renaissance Costumes

So Ive been so busy with work lately I haven't been able to post anything new on here. So I decided I would post an update about what I've been doing in my spare time. Ive gotten really into sewing lately. Last month was consumed with making costumes for Ohio renaissance fest. So I thought I'd post those up here cause Im really proud of them :)

This is me and my dress. It was made mostly off a pattern but greatly modified. I made the dress, belt, and pouch. So much fun to wear :)

This is my hubbies costume. I made the kilt, sash, shirt, and pouch.

This is my great pride of all the costumes. The skirt and shirt were made by mixing a combination of patterns. The corset was made off a pattern that I created from scratch.
For this one all I made was the kilt. The chain mail was made by Cole Schrock.

And here we are all together. Such a fun day :)

Martini Girl Update

So do to the unfortunate week Ive been having, all the files for my martini girl have been eliminated. I still have the files for the actual girl and her rig thank goodness but the setup, pose, etc are all gone. So this weekend I started from scratch again and put her back together. So this isn't a total update, cause really I got her to the point I had her last time. However, second time through I think she looks better at his point this time than last time :)...although the first thing that bugs me is her shoe is sitting awkwardly on her foot...must fix..

Martini Girl

So I haven't posted on here in a really long time. Ive been busy getting married and graduating and all, but I really want to try to get back to doing more regular posts so I thought Id show some of what I'm working on right now. This is a character Ive been working on for this music video thing and I'm loving how shes turning out. I was very proud of myself on making a rig and skinning her and actually getting her moving correctly so I wanted to pose her to show her off :). She doesn't have a name or story yet though and shes definitely not complete but shes getting there...

"Courting the Muse" update

This piece has come a long way since my last post, so I felt I should re-post it. :) Its fully textured, etc. I still want to make some tweaks but for now I believe this is about what I'm going to be turning in for class...

And here's a version with just a butter texture so you can see the models better..

Courting the Muse

I wanted to post about another piece Ive been working on. This is one Ive been doing as part of my thesis. My thesis is currently looking like its only going to be 2 images instead of 4 since this piece is way more complex than planned and I might be doing some simple animation with it. This piece is based off a painting by Daniel Merriam called courting the muse. He is one of my favorite artists and this is one of my favorite of his paintings, so I'm taking the painting and translating it into 3D.

This is the original painting:

And this is where I'm at on the model right now:
As you can see I still have a long ways to go. However I'm decently proud of how its looking so far.
